Viewing: A date with Destino

After watching the stunning Destino film inspired and influenced through Dali's surrealistic paintings, I went onto watch Dali and Disney A Date with Destino to further my research behind the context of the film as I am particularly fascinated by Salvador's artwork.

The documentary tells the tale of an unlikely alliance between two of the most renowned artists of the 20th century and how their alliance went on to achieve great success. It talks of their time together in the 1940s following Fantasia and the unfinished short film of 'Destino' that would later be completed in the 2000's. This was due to financial pressures of the studio. The difficulty when creating and designing the film was getting from one sequence to another and through teamwork they were able to overcome this.

I really enjoyed this documentary looking at the context behind the film and the surrealist paintings combined with Disney's thematic style and would thoroughly recommend this to other viewers who want to explore and dive into the context behind the film and the two renowned innovators (Dali and Disney's) relationship.
