Technical drawings are incredibly detailed diagrams of how a building works and/or is constructed. A technical drawing bridges the gap between the design element and practicality of building something.
I have created a timeline/plan to help stay on track and keep up to date with the different tasks. However since making this timeline, I have found that the plan (task 1) has taken longer to make than I originally planned. This is something I may need to consider in the future.
Things to consider/ remember when technical drawing:
Get detailed measurements of doors, windows and stairs
Measure the height from floor to ceiling
Measure the height of skirting boards, dado rails, picture rails
Try to be accurate with your plan and measurements
Consider line thickness
Not to smudge the pencil
4 metres must be kept around each part of the set to allow for fire exits etc
Arrows indicate doorways, entrances and exits
Nothing should be drawn free hand- A template should always be used- I found this particularly challenging when drawing circles.
Bold thick lines indicate solid lines
Hatched lines are where the camera can't see
Dashed lines show items/objects hanging/ not touching the floor
Doors must show what way they open up
