To start the Location Project, we started research in groups to gather an understanding of the time period of our selected script.
We started by selecting our location near the top of the Nottingham cemetery however, upon close inspection, we found that the main road surrounding the building was too busy and therefore would interrupt filming. Therefore, as a group we decided to move location to somewhere near the train station as the street already has many existing 1960s features and the buildings are from an older time period and therefore would fit the script.
I initially focused on the initial research of 1960s Yorkshire looking at the architecture of the time in particular. I found that the 1960s was the key shift in time for the construction of the high rise buildings to accommodate for the population increase. I then labelled key elements seen in the images that I would incorporate into my design. Next time I would look into the 1960s shops exteriors and window displays to further my project research.
Moving on, individually we are going to begin our individual design process, taking ideas we formed as a group and indivvidually interpreting them to our own style fitting with the script.
Overall we all worked really well as a group as everyone carried out equal individual tasks to work as a team and carry out detailed research.
