Making 2D tools
To finish off the project as a group we designed and printed a range of 2D tools onto A3 paper and then stuck them onto mountboard to make them appear almost 3D. We decided to create illustrations of the tools rather than sourcing them due to the health and safety of the young children that may be attending the exhibition it also plays on the theme of Alice In Wonderland- playing with scale and textures.
Designing the hat stand
Kerry was able to bring in one of her hat stands from home and therefore we positioned all of our hats that have been sourced and made onto the hat stand and took images of these to show the volunteers how it will be dressed.
Making A4 labels
After finishing all our design work and making, we then sat down as a group to discuss what will be written on the labels to display in the room to show the public our work and what our theme is about.
Receipts/budgeting:
I created an excel spreadsheet to industry standards adding all the receipts and details including the receipt number, the shop name, the date bought, the items purchased and the total price. I then stuck all the receipts onto paper so that they can be clearly seen and identified. We had a £50 budget which I think we stuck to fairly well as we only went over by £2.84.
Making Instructions:
Finally to finish our project, I created a set of instructions for the volunteers to clearly visualise how we intend our set to look. I used images of how we practiced each element of our design to look along with a simple guide. Hopefully this will be useful to the volunteers along with the plans of the room as well as the technical drawing.
